Elamites/Susians
伊蘭人或埃蘭人或以攔人/書珊人
Controlled by Persia at the foundation of empire. Teachers of the Persians, their language, was used for records and inscriptions. Their capital in Susa, (biblical name Shushan, modern city Shush in western Iran), was one of the three permanent administrative and cultural centers of the empire. They wear the candies and fillet round their hair and bring a leashed lioness and two cubs (not shown in my photo), bows with ducks head decoration and sheathed daggers. The lions, bows were used by the king during his New Years prayer as depicted on the Royal Tombs. Persians adopted Elamite dress. (The Asiatic lion is now practically extinct except for several closely guarded areas in India. The last lion was found dead by geologist McQuillan close to the city of Behbahan in Fars in 1962.)
